For a long healthy and happy life, feed your dogs only the best. "A healthy Golden is a happy Golden".
"We Have Warm Hearts For Cold Noses"

Many times people will get a dog without carefully considering if the dog will fit into their lifestyle. Through no fault of their own these dogs find themselves in shelters all over Southern California. They are abandoned at vet's offices, boarding kennels and at the shelters. We, at the foundation, try to be there for these animals, to work to find loving permanent homes. Statistics show that 78% of all puppies change homes twice before they are a year old. Do your homework. Get the right dog for you and your family. Not what the vet says is a great dog for a family. Yes Goldens and Labs plus many other breeds love kids. But you don't put a puppy Golden or Lab with babies and small children.

PLEASE THINK.....BEFORE YOU GET THAT CHRISTMAS PUPPY OR DOG. THEY ARE ONLY LITTLE FOR A COUPLE MONTHS. THINK ABOUT THE SIZE WHEN FULL GROWN AND WHAT IT TAKES TO GET HIM OR HER THERE.  If you don't have time to take your dog to training then DON'T GET THE DOG.. Because that is the reason you will give him/her up later. That won't be his fault but yours.  You teach your kids, why wouldn't you teach your dog?

You owe it to your kids, society and yourself DO YOUR HOMEWORK.
Every 6.7 seconds there is a dog being
KILLED, not "put to sleep," because they are killed, "put to sleep" is nice and sounds nice, but that is not how it is done. No one holds their head or paw. The public needs to be told the truth. One of the reasons is because of irresponsible breeding. Why should these puppies be born just to be killed. There are not enough good homes for the ones that are already alive, please don't encourage irresponsible breeding. The reason you see these dogs at rescues and shelters is because of all the irresponsible people that have not spay/neutered their pets. And please don't tell me "he never gets out". It's hard on society and hard on your dog not to be altered.
This is the truth and it is happening NOW.

We need to do something NOW. BY PULLING TOGETHER AND GETTING OUR VOICES HEARD WE CAN STOP THIS.

"If you use a trainer that suggests a pincher collar for your dog and especially a Golden, run to the nearest door, that trainer doesn't know what they're doing." A Golden is love, he/she is not going to eat the postman."
We seem to be having a lot of trainers now that are lazy and don't really want to work, and when a puppy is aggressive they tell the owner to put him to sleep. That is plain stupid.
YOU DON'T THROW THE BABY OUT WITH THE WATER. In almost 20 years we have never had any problem with an animal that we could not correct and get him/her adopted.

Dogs come into our lives to teach us about love and loyalty. They depart to teach us about loss. We try to replace them but never quite succeed. A new dog never replaces an old dog; it merely expands the heart. If you have loved many dogs your heart is very big. Did I say merely? What dogs teach us is hardly mere. They teach us that if you love a creature, you can pick up it's poop and not mind. They teach us that nothing is disgusting in love---neither smells nor spills.
